Titanium nitride (TiN) coatings have a 20-year track record of excellent performance in the cutting tool industry. Now, with our S-TiN, you can count on even better performance.
Using CemeCons High Ion Sputtering (H.I.S.) technology, we deposit S-TiN in a three-micron coating. This results in a uniform coating thickness with higher hardness than conventional TiN coatings, and higher oxidation resistance for longer wear and reduced costs.
For fine machining (fine turning or milling operation, thread cutting or finishing), S-TiN is smooth with no droplets or macros. Also, the cutting edge is uniformly coated without rounded edgesso tools start out sharper and stay sharper longer.
With this wide variety of applications, S-TiN is clearly the economically efficient coating for light and medium cutting operations.
