Features |
Benefits |
Dense and adhesive Al2O3 surface layer continually replenishes itself |
Creates an extremely wear- and oxidation-resistant coating; more than doubles the life of an uncoated tool at high cutting parameters |
Extremely hard coating |
Results in exceptional wear on high-strength steel or carbide tools (including reground tools) in a wide variety of processes |
Chemically stable up to 850° C |
Provides low thermal conductivity for dry cutting operations; significantly lowers manufacturing and waste disposal costs |
For dry, hard or fast cutting applications, TINALOX (TiAlN) provides exceptional performance due to its tremendous hardness of 3,600 HV. It is applied using CemeCons High Ion Sputtering (H.I.S.) technology.
TINALOX provides exceptional results on high-strength steel or carbide tools (including reground tools) in applications where stainless steels, high-alloy and low-alloy steels, aluminum, nonferrous metals, and even abrasive materials such as grey cast iron are being processed.
TINALOX's aluminum ratio also increases temperature resistance to 850° C. This is extremely important in reducing overall operations costs since low thermal conductivity reduces the need for coolants and lubricantslowering manufacturing and waste disposal costs while meeting todays environmental and safety standards.
By coating tools with TINALOX, studies show that the savings potential in tool cost is four percent of production costs. In addition, by increasing cutting parameters and reducing lubrication use, an even higher percentage of savings can be achieved while reducing manufacturing lead times.
